Can an IP of a server change on its own. There is no DHCP eanbled in this server.?

I initially had an IP 10.10.10.12 after some days i saw the IP had been changed to 10.10.10.13. How can this happen? Please explain. This is an Oracle Server and has been installed with Veritas BAckup application, and the scheduled backup does not take the oracle database and gives and error ';Windows Remote agent is not installed or not running';. You say there is no dhcp server on the server but does that mean you don't have a dhcp server in your network? If you don't know then there's your answer. Some dhcp on your network gave it a new ip. Also, you need to check your ip properties. Is it set for dynamic or static? Again, if it's dynamic, it's acquiring its ip through dhcp. If it's set to static, someone changed the ip.
