Sounds like you are trying to find a lost web site. Contact your host and ask them.

  • Can i change my DNS server to some other providers DNS lookup servers?

i have a net connection... i pay around 27$/mo to get about 256Kbps unlimited ';broadband'; connection. The thing is that..

    1. when it started the service it was really fast...now they seem to have frequent DNS crashes... that is i can surf to websites with their ip address not the domain names... can i change the DNS to that of other providers or is there some method?

    2. now they have offered a cheaper service of upto 2 Mbps at night... and daytime limited (2.5 gig/mo) usage plan for just about 15$/mo.... my friends say that they average about 3-5 Gig/night of free download with that... where as my plan allows me to download about 2 gig/whole day...

should i change my plan? or should i wait and pray for speed improvement?

i usually watch youtube vidoes by day... and at night download some torrents.

    any suggestions?

on how to make effective use, of changing the plan or not to?Can i change my DNS server to some other providers DNS lookup servers?
1.) You can change your DNS server just by going into your network properties and assigning different DNS servers. If you are using WinXP, just go into your network connection, select TCP/IP, select Properties, then add them in there. If you are using Linux, add the new entries to /etc/resolv.conf. Lookups may take longer because they'll have to leave the network, that's better than no lookup at all. (It will say, however, that you may want to try with another computer, borrow a laptop or something; the problem may be in your system as likely as it's in theirs, and you want to rule that out.)

2.) If it's cheaper, and fits your usage better, than switch. do you have detailed usage logs that could tell you how what you are already doing would fit in with that? If so, look at them and compare.

Hope this helps....Can i change my DNS server to some other providers DNS lookup servers?
You can probably find free caching DNS servers out on the internet. All you have to do is find them and point to them. Im sure Yahoo and Google have Internet caching servers out there you can use but you have to find them.

Yeah and I don't know how to answer a question. Help please!
If you're using the internet at home, you shouldn't need a proxy server.

Open Internet Explorer %26gt; Tools %26gt; Options

Select the Connections tab. Click ';LAN Settings';.

UNTICK all the options so they are NOT selected then click OK. Click OK again, close internet explorer and try and connect to the internet again.

If you're having difficulty at work or Uni, then you'll need to refer to your IT support dept.

How do you convert .asp files?

i want to change servers but the new host does not recognize .asp filesHow do you convert .asp files?
You have to have your website hosted on a machine that can process asp files. If the host machine in a linux machine, make sure that ';Chilisoft ASP'; is an option for your hosting site. Windows servers now use ';.aspx'; for ASP.NET web applications. How do you convert .asp files?
Convert them to what? What does the new server support?

Basically, ASP is a programming language - you should have gotten a new server that DID support them because unless they are able to support them, you'll have to rewrite the entire web site.

Think about it like it was 1950 and you have a bible in english (asp) and need it to be converted to russian (php) (for example) because the minister (server) doesn't speak english, only russian. There is no ';automated'; way of converting it - you need to hire a translater (programmer) who speaks both languages to get the bible in a form that the minister (server) understands - russian (php).

    yeah it can be frustrating

I was just looking for an ex girlfriend online

    couldn't find her though

I guess everyone isn't listed yet at reunion.com
    Try zabasearch.com.

Try googling their old email addresses. You'll some time find postings to other message boards that will give you other leads. If you know the providence or county they live in search the property tax authority for that area. If they have purchased a home, you'll have the address.

    Peace.

Moving into new home/area; changing servers and need to know how to transfer all data over .?

It really depends on the type of information that you have stored on the server. If you have games and programs on the server, those will need to be re-loaded onto the new server.

If it's just data that you need to transfer, there are a few different ways of doing it. The first is just to transfer the data to CD/DVD's. How many you need depends on how much data you have, but is certainly the most cost effective alternative. Another way is to get a USB key. They are small keychain style drives that plug into the USB ports and can hold anywhere from 256mb (small ones) to over 1GB (larger and more expensive). If its something larger you want, an external USB hard drive is the way to go. You should be able to get one from 50-100GB for a couple hundred dollars (at most).

Once you have the method you want, you simply move the files to the discs or storage device.

How do i change my DNS server address?

im trying to connect to my internet but it says can not communicate with the primary DNS server i wanna know how do i change or fix thisHow do i change my DNS server address?
If you're on here asking questions then you aren't having problems connecting to your internet. You are just having problems viewing your website it sounds like...who is your web host? You should be able to ask them to update your DNS and point your domain to the correct server in which they have assigned to you or if you have access to your server and can manage it yourself it's pretty easy to do, but require different steps. You can see where your domain is pointed with this source:
